Heather Perry-Registered Psychologist.
Heather is a registered psychologist practicing for nine years in South Africa and New Zealand. She has worked alongside children, adolescents and adults in Hospice, AIDS care facilities, places of safety, centres for people with disabilities educational facilities and private practice. Heather supports individuals who have experienced trauma regardless of age, including providing a safe space for children/tamariki to express and process traumatic experiences through play.
Heather works with people who feel stuck in their present lives, are anxious about the future, or can’t seem to move forward from their past. She recognises that people may prefer other ways to comfortably express themselves in addition to talking, and many of her clients opt to include art,
music/waiata or sandtray in their sessions. Having worked closely with Māori clients, their whānau and kaumātua in New Zealand, Heather seeks to ensure that where appropriate, Tikanga Māori values guide the journey with her clients.
